Ann Brenden is a retired air traffic controller with a background in archaeology, Egyptology, linguistics, history, art, and mythology. She has degrees in archaeology and business administration/marketing. Currently she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her family: husband, dog, and cat.

You MUST read this book!

This book captures your interest and grabs your attention from the beginning! I love the definitions in the beginning and how it starts out. I love how she shows the story progress through the centuries! I am so happy that I found this book from the start and can't wait for the rest of them to come out to follow along. I promise you, you will not stop reading once you start! If you love stories that revolve around ideas from long ago that affect us today, like the DiVinci Code you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! Happy reading!

Isis Reborn is an interesting, engaging, and suspenseful novel with a sly streak of romance-The DaVinci Code meets Daniielle Steel, with a dash of the supernatural for good measure. I was engaged by the overall arc of the storyline, which traces an ancient divine ruling and a mysterious oracle to the twenty first century for the ultimate showdown. I highly recommend this novel for those readers that enjoy multiple plots including the deft weaving of historical facts into a modern story, as well as the tremendous feat of imagination in creating the magical/supernatural element of the narrative.

I'm the furthest thing from an electrical engineer, and all of my mechanical engineering talent is with fabric. But I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and felt like I could almost build my own electric bike after reading it. But since I'd much rather build a jacket than a bike, I'll leave the building to the experts like Zero and Brammo. But at least now I know a lot more about how these amazing bikes actually work!

About the Author
Ken Fleming has been an enthusiastic and passionate Bible teacher for more than fifty years. His service for Christ has led him to many parts of the globe, including South Africa, where he spent twenty-five years as a missionary among the Zulu people. From 1977 through 2002, Ken taught in the Bible and Missions programs at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. Today he continues proclaiming the gospel and strengthening the church body through writing and preaching ministries.

A Different Viewpoint

As a former student of Ken Fleming's, I was required to read this book in one of his classes. I had read "Through the Gates of Splendor" by Elizabeth Elliot, and so figured that it would not be of much interest to me. However, when I did read it, I was fascinated by the different viewpoint that Mr. Fleming takes.

Ken writes from the perspective of a brother who had a close relationship with Pete, even though (at the time of Pete's martyrdom) they were on complete opposite sides of the Earth (Ken was working with the Zulu at the time). He discusses Pete's personality, his working relationship with God and others and his reasonings about giving up a potential career to be a missionary who would have no visible means of support (he did not even have pledges, nor did he request money from others.) He makes great use of Pete's diary and letters to others to develop his memoir.

As a professor, Mr. Fleming has a sharp wit and a strong ability to use language to communicate; this ability comes out in his book. A good read!

A Victorious Trophy of God's Grace!

Page after page of these entries in Peter Fleming's journal give a deep insight into what a man after God's own heart looks like. The process of Pete's spiritual maturity seen in the variety of experiences that each day would bring served to nurture a reflection of God's love through him that was extended toward those whom he would win for Christ. All of these episodes are trophies of God's grace and standards of true discipleship that raise the bar of faith far above the status quo of mere Christian duty. It was the beauty of Christ that drove and sustained him, with a persistence that flowed from the fountainhead of worship. In all of this, the reader is led to see a quality of living that is not out of reach for any heart that is surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ, constrained by His love and held by His hand to fulfill the purpose of His calling in each of us. Thank you, Ken Fleming, for these tender, transparent lessons afforded by your loving display of your brother Pete's faith in practice. To God alone be the glory!
