Bold, Daring, Controversial, and a Bit Frightening

It appears the author knows his subject matter very well, and he writes with great passion and honesty. When it comes to explaining the profound aspects of the spirit realm, God's Laws, and the Absolute Truth, he practically bares his soul. I truly admire Marvin Lam for his courage and conviction, for he dares to suggest that religions, the Bible, and sacred scriptures are not the Truth, but merely different means of getting to the Truth. He writes about religions being misinterpreted and degraded over the centuries from their sanctified and glorious origins. As a result, instead of uniting humanity into one common bond, religions have become a source of conflicts and strife in the world. As if that wasn't enough, I was in for another big shock when I learned that Almighty God, our loving Father in Heaven, is both good and evil, both the Savior and the Satan! At first, I thought, "This guy must be out of his mind!" However, by the time I finished reading his book, and after all the dots have been connected, I began to see the big picture. Then, I said to myself, "Wow! Why didn't I think of this before? Why no religion has ever talked about the duality of God's Nature?" Shock and disbelief turned into pleasant surprises, and then pleasant surprises turned into a feeling of profound love and reverence for God the Creator.
This book really opens my mind and heart to new dimensions of God's Eternal Truth. For me, it was both a frightening and illuminating experience to seriously examine my own religious beliefs, turn them inside out, look at them from different angles, and arrive at a totally different conclusion. Real, heart-felt changes sometimes require bold and drastic approaches. I would not recommend this book to the faint of heart or people who are members of an orthodox church, neoconservatives, religious fanatics, and fundamentalists. You have to approach this book with open arms, an open mind, and a fearless heart. If you are unable or not willing to do that, then this book is definitely not for you. For everyone else, I highly recommend this fascinating book.
In summary, I think "The Last Salvation" by Marvin Lam is bold, daring, original, controversial, disturbing, frightening, stimulating, refreshing, illuminating, and uplifting, all at the same time.

Made a Profound Positive Impact on My Life

Here's a Religion/Spirituality book that's well-written and well organized. Because of its title, at first I thought this book deals primarily with the issues of sins, redemption, prophecies, end of the world, death, and destruction. If that's the case, then it would make for a very grim reading. Let's face it; most people don't like to read about bad news, especially if they are going to affect them. But once I glance through the table of contents, I notice that this book indeed talks about those grim topics and a lot more. Myself, I'm not too crazy about organized religions. In fact, I don't belong to any church or denomination. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that every human being has a soul and that there is a God. I don't believe that we are what we are because of some random biological evolution. And I don't believe life is purely a series of chance happenings (lucks and bad lucks). Yes, this book is written for a person like me also.
I find the chapters on the meaning of life and death, the meaning of suffering, continuous evolution of the human soul, and how to overcome adversities very inspiring and illuminating. Here's an author who has a gift for making complex theosophical concepts easy to understand. His writing style is simple, direct, and highly effective. The last chapter of the book - Divine Love - by itself is worth the price of the book. It made me rejoice and it made me weep. It's not too often that we get to read holy discourses from the Supreme Being. This is the Creator of the universe speaking directly to His children on earth. This chapter helps me fathom God's boundless love for humanity, clearly see my divine purpose in life, and understand why God - our loving Father in Heaven - sometimes has to be cruel to His children. This book made a profound positive impact on my life. Now that I've read it, my life would never be the same.

A Timely Book That Empowers and Enlightens

The Last Salvation is a very timely and much needed book of its genre. This is one of the most important pieces of literature that I've read in years. However, in terms of influence, I would say this one makes the most powerful impact on my views of God, religions, sins, and salvation. For a long time, I believe that Almighty God stands for goodness, love, life, wisdom, and glory, because this is what the Bible has taught me. Also, I've been taught that all atrocities, ugliness, evil acts, and suffering in this world are the work of the Satan. For many years, I am comfortable with this view of God and of the constant battle between good and evil. Then, this book comes along and turns my world upside down. It challenges me to re-evaluate my religious beliefs. I learn that good and evil are not two separate and opposite forces of nature, but two complementary aspects of the same universal law, the Law of Evolution. And I learn that God not only creates the universe, but God also is the universe. Therefore, God is also governed by universal laws; meaning God is both good and evil, kind and also cruel. The author goes on to explain that adversities and suffering are not only inevitable, but also necessary for the continuous evolution of the human soul. God's Great Cruelty is necessary for the evolution and survival of the universe. Therefore, it's because God is absolutely compassionate that He must be absolutely cruel. Wow! What a shocking revelation!
I think this book has the potential for healing the wounds of human societies, which have witnessed so much violence, religious extremism, racial tension, injustice, corruption, and inequality. It can help people rekindle their love for the Creator and for their fellow men. It will show people the hidden root causes conflicts in the world, how to utilize adversity and suffering to their advantage, and how to rediscover their life's purpose, sanity, and peace of mind.
In short, The Last Salvation is a must read for people who want to experience a spiritual transformation and to advance to the next stage of human evolution.
